Abortion
Abortion is one of the most controversial and talked about issues of our lifetime. It is discussed in the classrooms, work places, talk shows, and even in courts to have its faith resolved. But one thing we as humans do agree upon is that we have opinions, ranging from completely anti abortion (pro-life) to completely for abortion (pro-choice), and anywhere in the wide spectrum in between. I believe that abortion should remain a safe option for all women. Abortion is defined as the termination of pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in or closely followed by the death of an embryo or fetus. This definition includes accidental abortions such as miscarriages and stillbirths. People want to know if abortion is ethical, if the fetus can feel pain, and when it is more human than non-human. The opposition of abortion seems to always rely on the fact that a fetus is a human being, from the moment of conception. The pro-choice group argues that one of the major characteristics of human beings is their viable ability to live, grow, breath, and function on their own—which a fetus cannot do, if normal, until the end of the second trimester or the beginning of the third trimester.
