Through the novel ?Lord of the Flies? references are given about the government, regular society and its problems. At the beginning of the book Piggy and Ralph bring the society of boys together and are immediately opposed by Jack and his boys. This shows a good example of different governmental parties that don?t necessarily agree about things. Jack says ? ?I ought to be chief, ? because I?m chapter chorister and head boy. I can sing C sharp.? ? (Golding, 18) and although Ralph does not verbally say why he should lead everyone knows because he was the one to gather them and he held the conch. They decide to hold an election to see who should lead ? ?Let?s have a vote.? ?Yes!? ?Vote for a chief!? ?Let?s vote-? ? (18). Ralph wins the election because there are more littl?uns that pick Ralph because he has the conch. Even though Ralph is now officially the leader of the island opposition from Ralph and his choir already exists.
Even with a chief people still are in disarray. Jack takes command of his boys and tells Ralph what they are going to do instead of letting Ralph decide like he should. Ralph?s poor leadership is very evident and very few people actually li

Although the boys were isolated from the world, they tried to act civil, they still fought and warred. At the time the world was also in a war. So even though they weren?t influenced by the world around them, they still being innocent (to some extent) still acted like the rest of the world. Humans are not perfect and no matter how hard they tried neither could the boys on the island.
