Rome was built in 753 BC and lasted as a part of the Roman Empire until 476 AD. In this more than 1000 year time span, The Roman Empire made many discoveries and anvancements in architectural design and placement. The majority of these advances can still be seen today in the modern world. For example, before building a city or town, the Romans looked for a broad, flat plain on which to build. Without the use of today's technology, leveling an area would take a very long time. Once the area was chosen, the plans could be drawn up. The forum, or town
