Parallels Amongst Turmoil
The stories Age of Iron and Cry Freedom share similarities and differences. An acclaimed writer-J.M. Coetzee-writes Age of Iron in the form of a letter-diary to a dying woman's daughter, while Cry Freedom was a screenplay adapted from a journalist's true accounts of the time. The similarities between Age of Iron and Cry Freedom include the setting, the theme, and the various characters. The differences consist of the ending, the main focus, and the purpose of the story.
