After the events of September 11th, today more then ever before we all think about terrorism. It will always be in the back of our minds. Until that day in September, every one thought it only happened in the Middle East, but now we know it can happen anywhere!

Terrorism can be traced back as far as 6th century B.C. where they used bioterrorism Solon of Athens poisons the water supply with hellebore (skunk cabbage), during the siege of Krissa.

Another form of terrorism that is used is suicide terrorism. Over the past two decades suicide terrorism has become an ever-widening phenomenon. Fifteen dif


ferent terrorist organizations in twelve different countries resorted to the use of suicide tactics against their enemies. (Yoram Schweitzer) Suicide terror attacks started in Lebanon in April 1983. A small-and until then unknown directed a number of suicide attacks against Western targets. The first attack was directed at the American embassy in Beirut (April 1983), followed by attacks on the U.S. Marines headquarters and the French Multinational Force (October 1983). The last two were executed simultaneously and resulted in 300 casualties and dozens of wounded. The table below shows some of the reasons for suicide attacks.
