She runs on the ocean's shore after a bright red Frisbee. The waves are breaking on her four legs, the wind is blowing on her long ears, and the sun warms her back. She is full of life, expressing happiness and joy on every strand of golden hair. She then returns, the red Frisbee covered with sand and drool, her eyes are shinning; she is happy.

Now she can barely stand up to eat. She can't run along the oceans shore, feeling the wind. Now she is cold, the sun no longer warms her back, and the red Frisbee remains so very clean. I walk towards her and see her dull eyes. They are telling me something, I study them and later realize what she is trying to tell me. She is telling me that she is sick, she is asking me for help. I take her to the veterinarian. He takes my hand, and tells me that she's got very advanced cancer, she is going to die.

Euthanasia is defined by the Webster's New World Dictionary as the "act or method of causing death painlessly, so as to end suffering." (469) In this moment, I need to take that difficult decision, not with my own life, but with my pet's life. She is suffering from cancer, which will get worse in a matter of ti

I wish I knew that the decision being taken is the right one. I believe that when a person, or in this case my pet, is suffering from a terminal disease, he/she has the right to rest in peace without suffering. There have been many cases in which a person is lying on a hospital's hard bed, spending the last days of his/her life inside a cold room surrounded by strange people, instead of spending the last days of his/her enjoying life by doing what he/she likes to do the most. This is why I support euthanasia. I ask myself "what is the point of going through life miserably inside a hospital forever, when you can live what's left from it outside doing what you like to do?"

Our right to die should be left to our decision, but when I say this, I may be agreeing with the fact that someone decided to take his/her life by committing suicide. I can't really decide which part to take when it comes to this. In a way, I understand or accept that a person decides to kill him/her self because he/she wants to. The only thing that is not clear to about this is, "If they had these problems, why didn't they try to solve them first?" Perhaps
