Values
At the beginning of the semester, two things really stuck out in my mind because I was very concerned with them. I am not sure if they qualify as values, but they are very important to me, and they affect my life daily. University education does not really connect to these two, but without being here, I would not be forced to deal with them. My first value is health. I knew that I wanted to stay healthy. Then next was time. I also knew that time management would be a key factor in my success at the university. Values are constantly being challenged, changed, improved, and in some cases, lost all together. My health issue was probably the most important to me. I have always been a very healthy person. I love to workout and eat nutritious food. When I arrived on campus I knew that this was going to be a huge challenge. The cafeterias serve nothing that is good for you, but instead they stock the lines with fried, greasy food. The salad bar does not even have a low-fat salad dressing. To eat healthy around here, I knew I would have to eat out at a healthy restaurant or cook my own food. Those two things would also be hard due to the lack of cooking space and healthy dining.
