Street Violence

The causes of street violence, what can be said about this reoccurring problem that is affecting the lives of Americans everyday. Gangs and organized crime figures contribute to this on going problem. Street violence is no longer a problem that goes on in just "ghetto" areas. In the last few years those involved come from white middle class neighborhoods. It has affected mainstream culture. The word "gang or dope dealer" is no longer associated with just blacks or ethnic groups. In the last five years there have been cases where gang related white males from middle class families commit violent crimes. If street violence becomes a mainstream problem there is going to be a drastic impact on society when it comes into play in middle class communities. What is interesting about street violence is, why do people take such dramatic risk for such little reward. Is the thrill of getting caught or do these people need serious help. Well in some cases the lack of education has an impact, maybe never knowing the difference between right and wrong could be the answer. If a person knows in their mind that he or she is not going to amount to anything, this might be a reason to take high risks. Drugs play a major role in violent activities


Well as we all know the bigger cities were cracking down on them so much that they moved throughout the Midwest expanding down south. In 1993 there was a major gang problem in Little Rock Arkansas. The Bloods and Crypts were recruiting member, from people who are from the middle class standpoint. Why do people joint gang? The money the nice cars and cloths, that is easy to get at a rapid pace. But if it comes that easy it will end even quicker. It may be fun and games at the age of 14 to 25 but the decisions that a person makes that include violence will not only affect the victim but the one who commits the violent act, because they will have to live with there action and consequences for the rest of his or her life. There have been programs that law enforcement has been a part of the try to educate people and their children about gang violence. But to a child anything that rebels against their parent is cool to them. Maybe if they use more of a scared straight method they can get a better reaction. There are different methods that police can do. One thing is for sure, that educating young people at early ages will prepare them for future decisions.

, if a person is a hardcore user they will do what ever it takes to get there so called fix. Street violence must be addressed some how; the public and law enforcement must work together to correct the problem before it starts.

Underlying feelings can lead to violence, such as hate, rage, shame, guilt, and trying to prove something in a negative way. Drugs and alcohol can trigger violent outbursts in someone who is already harboring feelings of rage, or who is mentally unstable. If the person is a drug user this will just intense the violent personality. Once the person becomes addicted to hardcore drugs like cocaine or meth some users start to steal to support their addiction. Drug marketers typically perpetuate violence by groups that attempt to gain competitive advantage. So what about the users, they become slaves so to speak. They do what ever it takes to get their drug of choice. This is where violence comes into play. The dealers know some use
