Romeo and Juliet
“ Romeo, Romeo wherefore art thou, Romeo? Deny thy father, refuse thy name.” Was an extremely well known quote that Juliet said during one of the most famous scenes from Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare. Romeo of the Montagues and Juliet of the Capulets both made numerous naïve and impulsive choices that inevitably led to their catastrophic and ironic demise. One of the naïve decisions Romeo made was when he attended the Capulet’s feast. The Montagues and Capulets had long hated and despised each other. Their children were brought up to continue the rivalry. Romeo did not care to obey this because he was supposedly in love with Rosaline until he saw Juliet. Romeo had the audacity to invite himself to the Capulet’s feast since Rosaline would be attending the feast and it would give him a chance to compare the ladies. This was a perilous plan to do because Romeo was a Montague and they do not coup with the Capulets very well. “O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright! It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night Beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear! So shows a snowy dove trooping with crows As yonder lady o’er her fellows shows.
