The Taco Bell Experience
I did an evaluation of the Taco Bell restaurant at 4912 West Thompson Road. This restaurant is located one mile from my house. I interviewed two employees, my stepbrother Chris McCoy, and James Hart. They both had different opinions of their jobs. Overall, I feel that Taco Bell is a good, fast, and friendly place to eat at. Based on eight criteria, food, setting, prices, kid-friendly, service, employee experience, lobby cleanliness, and bathroom cleanliness, I will determine if people really like Taco Bell. There are positives and negatives to any restaurant that you go to and evidenced by 10 surveyed customers, Taco Bell will be evaluated. My first criterion was about the setting and atmosphere of this Taco Bell Restaurant. I asked three questions about cleanliness. First, was the parking lot clean? Seven out of ten people stated that it was clean (survey, September 20, 2002). This really set the mood for a visit. If there is trash all over the parking lot, it just makes a customer ask, is this restaurant going to be dirty in the store? Nobody wants to eat at a dirty restaurant. From my personal observation, I noted that the store was clean on this particular day. Next, I asked, "Care if the restrooms were clean and stocked?
friendly as possible and should be well lit for safety reasons. Prices should be reasonable. People The next criterion was service. Service included dealing with complaints and the total time spent in line (TTL). I asked Chris McCoy if he was good at customer service and complaints and he stated that, "I can handle the situation and make everyone happy" (personal interview, September 19, 2002). Maybe Chris would make a good manager some day. Since so many people eat at Taco Bell, you would think that the employees would get paid more. This is not the case though with employee James Hart. When I asked him if he felt that he got paid enough based on the work that he did and he said, "No, that is part of the problem" (personal interview, September 19, 2002). If managers were to pay the hard-working people more money per hour, then they would have a more dependable staff. do not want to go out and spend a lot of money on food for the family. Taco Bell is an service. Customer service should be number one on the restaurant's list of priorities. The setting and atmosphere. Taco Bell sets the mood for a customer's visit. If it is clean, then a "Six out of ten people said that they were not clean (survey, September 20, 2002). The restroom is the next thing that people look at. On this day customers at this particular restaurant had a negative experience. Before my meal I went to the restroom to wash my hands, and there was no soap, or paper towel in the dispenser. I was not pleased. I wondered what happens when there is no toilet paper?
