Thomas Jefferson
A detailed Summary of Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson was a man with new ideas and open minded ideals. Unlike most of his fellow politicians, he had his own strong beliefs and looked for answers in the questions instead of around them. Jefferson said that "the state of peace is that which most improved the manners and morals, the prosperity and happiness of mankind." Most people would just interpret peace as no war or a unified people, but Jefferson defines it more intensely. He explains that improved manners and morals could provoke a people to come together and understand each other thus getting along together. Also Jefferson says that the only way to a peace of the people is for them to prosper and be happy. This is a basic human emotion, if we are not happy it reflects on our actions and judgment. Jefferson was definitely a thinker before his time, almost like a philosopher of human emotions and ideals.

He looked beyond his beliefs and into the beliefs and actions of other arising from confrontation and disagreement. We need another Thomas Jefferson for our century.
