Schindlers List
In the movie the Holocaust, the movie starts with the Weis family wedding, giving a sense of happiness and change. The people getting married are Carl, a Jew and Inga, a German. Their friend is discovered at the wedding to be a Nazi and he warns them of a change that is coming that is going to be for the worse. But Dr. Weis, the pharmacist/doctor of the family, Carl's father, refuses to believe it. When the changes start happening, business is going bad for the Jews. Dr. Weis's practice is being taken away from him. He is going to be transported to the Jewish ghetto in Warsaw. The family stays behind with Inga. The Germans take Carl to a work camp where he gets in trouble and is put under hard labor. Meanwhile, Mrs. Weis and her children are in Inga's house but Inga's parents are Germans and they don't want Jews in their house anymore. And they encourage the Weis women to leave. Inga doesn't want them to go because they are her family too. Carl's little brother leaves to go join the partisans in the resistance. The littlest daughter, has a temper tantrum, runs out of the house, tears off her Jewish star and gets raped. She comes back home to be forever changed.
Carl and two of his friends are taken away for the drawings they drew and sold of Jewish children being tortured. Inga is pregnant, but Carl doesn't get to find out. The men are tortured for long periods of time to try to get out of them where and who they sold the drawings to because the German's don't want the world to know what they are doing. While they are being tortured they scream Italy because they all dream of seeing Italy and after they get out of there they want to go and meet there. The dreams keep them alive. The Germans crush their hands with their guns. Carl's two friends are killed and Carl is taken to Auschwitz. Carl knowing is death his near, asks his friend from the first concentration camp to give him something to draw on. He grabs a German poster and a clump of coal. Carl uses it to draw his last drawing. While he is drawing it, he dies and the camp is liberated. The prisoners are freed; he had died just before they rescued them. His friend takes the drawing and gives it to Inga and tells her that even in his last moments he was drawing. Mrs. Weis starts a school for the ghetto children and the counsel is ordered to bring six thousand Jews a day to the trains to be transported to "family camps" which were really death camps. Dr. Weis starts a railroad side clinic to take Jews that were sick and unable to travel away from the train station (even if they weren't sick) so they could save their lives. The German's find out what he's doing and send him and his wife to a concentration camp. During this time Dr. Weis' brother starts a Warsaw Ghetto uprising on Hitler's birthday. They spark the resistance that lasts for months. The Ghetto resistors smuggle guns, ammunition, and grenades into the Ghetto.
