Romeo and Juliet; Who was responsible for the deaths?
In this essay I will discuss the question of 'who was responsible for Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet's death?' I will address the reasoning behind all the characters actions and reactions, one by one, to see how they all add up to bring about the death's of these young lovers. The most commonly seen reason for Romeo's and Juliet's downfall would be the feud between the Capulets and the Montagues. However, the over looked, minor characters play an important role in the downfall of Romeo and Juliet. They were constantly pushing them into secrecy and forcing them to construct a large and complex plan that results in Romeo's and Juliet's deaths. The domineering Lady Capulet and her husband, Old Capulet, have had the finger pointed at them in regards to blame. They were so sure that their tradition of arranged marriage was the right way to go; yet it only resulted in heartbreak.
