A prose Analysis of "A Rose for Emily"This short story is set in a fictional country in Mississippi and the narrator is an unnamed towns man. The story begins after the death of the main character Emily Grierson. In this story we are the patriarchy north and south and of the sexual conflict within it. In this story the author tells us of a woman victimized and betrayed by the society and its values, who decide to please herself. As stated in the story " when Miss Emily died the whole town went to the funeral" this tells me that Miss Emily was lady of great status in the town.
