Since everyone's humble beginnings in pre-school or kindergarten we have all been groomed to be the scholars of the future. While some have strayed from the pack, the majority has continued on a track set for a more fulfilling life. The steps we take toward wisdom are clearly laid out and planned with the utmost simplicity, yet goals for the youth of our country continue to climb higher with each generation. Advances in education technology and increase in requirements for teachers have raised the bar for everyone. After years of being taught how to be a more educated person, is it enough to get by in the new world that awaits after basic schooling?

Our entire lives we have been prepared fo


r the next step in our education, whatever it may have been. Throughout elementary school we learned the basics such as: reading skills, mathematics, and writing skills. After six years of preparation we are finally ready for the next phase, middle school. Middle school plunges deeper into study and requires more effort than its predecessor. Abilities are honed and we learn how to manage ourselves in balance with school. After three more years of preparation we finally advance to high school. This is the pinnacle of lower education where interests are decided and a path for life is set. Are people ready to choose their path after only eighteen years of experience? With an entire life ahead we can only learn as we go along how our futures will commence.
