Delaware, is a state with a lot of meaning. Did you know that it is the 4th ranked in population and only the 2nd in size? It was also the first state to join the Union. This all might not seem very interesting to you. But, I picked this state just because of its size. I wanted to find out just how important this little state of ours is. Read on, I hope to make some interesting realizations about Delaware that just might peak your interest.
Let us start with some interesting facts:
· Delaware's size is just 1,982 square miles.
· The motto: "Liberty and Independence".
There's a lot to do in Delaware, if you like to do certain things. It's a beautiful place with lots of natural land and waterfront. They have an annual kite festival that sounds cool. The state fish is the Weak fish and they hold a Weak Fish Tournament. There's the Bethany Arts Festival and the Brandywine Arts Festival. There's a definitely cool 500 stock car race held here. You can also find some very cool old Forts on Pea Patch Island. Don't forget about the museums, educational yes, but also entertaining. One of the most beautiful wedding chapels on the eastern coast is in Delaware, it's called Barnatt's Wedding Chapel. You wouldn't want to miss seeing it. There's an annual Irish Festival too. There's also a First Night Celebration for New Years Eve. That's an alcohol free event that has lots of cool things set up to do in downtown for the kids and adults. Things like face painting, live bands and awesome stuff like that.
