Sir Gawain and the Green Knight
A detailed Summary of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight
In "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight", Gawain stays at a castle in which three hunts take place. These three hunts are associated with the temptations made at Gawain by Lord Bercilak's wife. In each hunt scene, a characteristic of the prey of that hunt is personified in Gawain's defense against the temptations brought upon by the Lord's wife.

But this time, Gawain doesn't attempt to avoid the advances made upon him. He decides to be more confrontational and direct with her. Gawain does not physically harm the lady as a boar may. He is much more frontal and direct in his dealings with her. In showing this self-confidence for the first time, Gawain has finally indicated to the Lord's wife that he will not just submit to her beckon call.
ke a deer. He tries to ignore her at first, but was unsuccessful. He then avoids her advances, not confronting her, but by downplaying the magnitude of her advances.
It is evident in these temptations that Gawain was being tested. The final outcome of the story makes it possible to see that Lord Bercilak and
