A Day No Pigs Would Die

"You sort of sounded like your father," (P. 148) is a sign that Rob has greatly (ADV) matured from the beginning of the book, A Day No Pigs Would Die. First, (TW) Rob knows how to run his farm and family. Second, (TW) he was able to handle the death of his best and only friend, Pinky. Finally, Rob was able to handle the death of his father, Haven. The book, A Day No Pigs Would Die, shows the maturity of a boy's life over the course of one year. (Thesis) (Underlined = PP)

First of all, (TW) Rob knows how to run and take care of the farm and family, now that Haven is dead. Each day, Rob has to do the chores on the farm (PP) and around the house for Haven and himself. "Rob... I'm glad we've got you to handle things." (P143) This is saying that Rob is easily (ADV) taking care of everything around the house since Haven


Finally (TW), Rob was able to deal with the death of his father. Rob did not show any sign of sadness for Haven's death. Rob just moved on with his life because he knew that it was going to happen sooner-or-later. "Goodnight, Papa... We had thirteen good years." (P ) If something like that happened in the beginning of the book, Rob's maturity level would have been too low; he would be depressed for a very (ADV) long time. Now, Rob was able to handle Haven's death because he is much more mature now, compared to how he was a year ago.
