Federalists Versus Modern Republicans

From the beginning of the US there have been two major parties. One party

typically ranked economic growth and law and order among its highest priorities,

currently known as Republican. The other party typically had the goal of an

egalitarian society in the economic and social spheres, currently known as

Democrat. These two competing strands of thought have a long history of
