Business Proposal
This proposal recommends that the Campus Y support a winter coat drive so as to provide targeted families and individuals migrated from warmer regions with warm clothes. Volunteers supporting the project will be recruited through Carolina and the community. I will advertise and market the idea to local residents (non-students) and students through local newspapers and flyers. Therefore, the plan only requires a minimal budget directed to advertising expenses. In addition, in an effort to maximize the impact of the program, I explained the nature of my proposal to the local volunteer organization. I further recommend arranging the coat drive in a two week time period early January of next year. This approach allows students to pick up their old jackets before returning back to school. Individuals with donations will be awarded with food certificates and automatically enter a raffle, in which they can win additional prizes.People Migrating from Warmer Regions need Warm Clothes Many people move to our area from warmer regions; among them countless Hispanics seeking for job opportunities. With winter just around the corner and temperatures dropping, these needy families and individuals depend on warm clothe
The coat drive will be held over a time period of two weeks. During that time, individuals with donations will be rewarded. Two ideas for rewards include: First, a raffle where basketball tickets are the prize; second, a deal could be made with an eatery, giving certificates for free fries. Moreover, donors can learn as much as they can about homelessness. If they are students, they can convince their classmates to join in or support the efforts. Students can then do a class presentation or a paper on some aspect of homelessness, and someone who works in a homeless shelter may come and talk to class. In spite of all the above mentioned rewards, the most significant benefit is having an impact of this world. Expenses to Advertise through Newspapers and Flyers Establishing a winter coat drive will be most effective only a few weeks after UNC re-opens for its spring term. Coats should go to the orange county homeless shelter or to a soup kitchen. My designated targets will be local residents (non-students) and students. I will advertise and market the idea at the beginning of December through the Chapel Hill News, Chapel Hill Herald, the Raleigh News and Observer, and the Daily Tar Heel. In addition, I will put up
