After WWII, things weren't looking too good in terms of communism. Many countries and nations were beginning to point in the direction of it while Marxism started to become a widespread philosophy throughout Europe. Even though the United States began to lose in Vietnam, they were able to keep away from Marxism and become the strongest economy in the world. The United States was able to keep there heads high and push through this period of time through four events that took place in the 20th century.

Human relationships have always been dynamic. Change and adaptability have gone hand in hand with the passage of time for human society. Systems have been developed to regulate, direct and control the resources of the American society. The systems are referred to as governments and the resources as the populace or inhabitants and forces of production. A government must be dynamic in its nature reflecting the change in society. At times these systems have resisted the necessity to adapt with its components creating a deficit between the system and those it regulates. As the deficits develop, they cause instability, and could lead to revolution. This deficit represents Marxism and shows how important it is for a government

Although the United States went through very hard, emotional times during the depression, they were able to work the economy up to the strongest in the world and help Europe do the same. Completing such successful tasks, the social aspect of the United States was eventually equalized and many people were happy. As Langston Hughes once said, "Let America be America again."

Although racism and segregation was a successful change in the United States, the social aspect of black and white people also needed to be changed. This is where a man named Martin Luther King came in. He brought about a very successful social movement called, the civil rights movement. Not only did the black people rebel but they also gained support from whites as well. Martin Luther King stressed a non-violent protest which proved to be a huge element in their success. Very much was accomplished by this movement. All of these events and changes in society helped make the system stronger in the United States and helped them strive for success without Marxism.

The third important idea of the United States was noticing the strengths of its economy and political area against the weaknesses of the Marxists countries. As said before by George Kennan, "Marxian ideology, in its Russian-Communist projection, has always been in process of subtle evolution. The materials on which it bases itself are extensive and complex." This shows how people thought as Marxism to be complex and confusing in a way, as well as frail and weak. Marxism was also said to set a kind of unevenness in the economy, making it unstable. For many people in Europe, it was like an excuse for their incapable ways of reasoning to turn to Marxism. "These revolutions found in Marxist theory a highly convenient rationalization for their own instinctive desires." This is exactly what Kennan was talking about. Many people in Europe didn't

to choose the correct system for the people and the current conditions. For Europe, it wasn't the right decision. The United States knew that Marxism wasn't the right path to choose but, Europe didn't know this and turned to the USSR as a role model.
