The Process

We all have at one time or another taken pictures. When the roll of film is complete we

normally run down to the store to have it developed. There is another alternative, developing your

own film and pictures. The advantages of developing your own film and pictures is it is a great

The process starts with a black bag that has arm holes on one end and a zipper on the other

end. There are a few things that go into this bag. Your roll of film, a metal can opener, film

canister for developing, and the plastic film separator. Put all of these objects into the black bag.

Now it is the time to get the film ready to be developed . Insert your arms into the armholes in

the black bag. Feeling your way around the bag, you need to find the film and the can opener. You

pry open the flat end of the film canister with the can opener. Carefully pull out the film making

sure you don't touch the film, except for on the edges. Wind the film up with the plastic film

separator so the film does not touch itself. Insert the rolled up film and separator into the film

canister. Screw the lid tightly on to the top of the canister. Remove your arms from
