Naomi and her daughter-in-law, Ruth, went from Moab to Judah after Ruth's husband died. Ruth made Naomi's homeland and God her own. Boaz, a rich relative of Naomi, was kind to Ruth. He allowed her to gather grain from his fields. Boaz decided that he wanted to marry Ruth, but there was another man that Ruth was supposed to marry. Boaz did not know what to do. Boaz received the right to marry Ruth. He also bought the land that was once owned by Naomi's dead husband. Ruth and Boaz got married and had a son.

Just as Abraham was going to stab Isaac, God told him to stop because he had proved that God was first in his life. God told Abraham to sacrifice a ram instead. Abraham named the place Jehovah jireh.
