A detailed Summary of Walker Brothers Cowboy
The narrator of the story has a strained relationship with her mother. On the first page, the dress fitting is an allegory describing their relationship. "We leave my mother...itching from the hot wool."(Pg.1) The narrator feels that the clothes are just like her mother as they are uncomfortable. When the narrator and her mother make a simple trip to the store, the mother irritates the narrator even more by making her dress up beyond the social ranking that she has.
