Virgin Voters and the 2000 Presidential Election
Virgin Voters and the 2000 Presidential ElectionAfter reading this interesting article I believe the thesis of the author is that there should be more focus on being fairer in the election process and have less concern about the constitutionality perspective. I also believe her thesis states that young voters are vital to the political system. I believe that the author developed her thesis by comparing certain historical situations with the election process, and how it compares with what happened with the turn out of young voters in the 2000 presidential election. The previous research used to develop her position is the Voting Rights Act and the National Voter Registration Act(virgin pg5-6). The authors specific findings are that the impact of the 2000 presidential election will make young voters more detached from voting because they already believe that the system lack legitimacy. The author also found that a person learns politics from their family (virgin pg. 13). So this shows that children from families that are active politically will be active politically themselves. The authors research also shows that if parents are inactive politically so will their children. I believe we should be very concerned about you
