This racism shows when he spoke to Roderigo where he reveals his true self, "Were I the Moor, I would not be Iago" (I. i.59-62). This prejudice of him brought jealousy to Othello along. He was jealous to Othello for many reasons, one being that Othello has higher ranking in the army than him and also he had a great marriage with Desdemona, which Iago doesn't have with Emilia. These were the main causes of his hatred for Othello and the reason he adopts such a racist attitude.
