A poem in which an incident is vividly described is the poem "Glasgow 5th March 1971" by Edwin Morgan. The incident is described using a variety of techniques such as imagery and word choice. The poem is a true story about a man and his girlfriend, who are walking down Sauchiehall Street when they are suddenly pushed in to a shop window by two youths, who are attempting to raid a shop. The shop window smashes causing serious injuries to the victims. As the youths raid the shop they have no expression on their faces, showing us they are not concerned about the injured parties. While this incident is taken place two witnesses sit in their cars pretending they can't see or hear anything.
Atechnique used by Edwin Morgan is imagery, as it helps to describe the scene in more depth and grab attentions. The start of the poem is very important as it describes in great detail the weapon used.

this is a metaphor and also a visual image as the readers imaging the injured lying like a star, the connotations carried in this image are shock, as the victims don't understand what is happening, collision and force.
