Reson or Rethorical
A detailed Summary of Reson or Rethorical
Nowadays we as people are put in many situations in which we have to make decisions, some of which could affect people's lives a lot or a little. One way you can figure things out is by using rhetoric or reason. I think we live in a world in which older people use reason. I think that way because older people base their decisions on facts and logic. But younger people use more rhetoric then reason. This is because they get persuaded into doing new things and trying them. At first I did not really understand the difference between the two. But now I know and got a better understanding of the both. When someone is being rhetorical he or she is trying to persuade you, make you "see" what they are saying. We now know the difference between both. A good example of something rhetorical would be attending a funeral of a loved one and listening to the priest speak. I should know thus because just this last weekend I attended one and there way a lot of emotions involved. Listening to the priest talk about the person who died made me cry. An example that everyone can relate to would be seeing an ad for soda, clothes, [ect...] they try to persuade you to buy their products. An example of reason would be how to drive a car. There is only one way to do it. You also just use common logic when driving. I will be using the book Aztlan and Viet Nam by George Mariscal. I will choose two stories and decide if it is rhetorical or if it deals with reason.

When someone is being rhetorical he or she is trying to persuade you, make you "see" what they are saying. When someone is being rhetorical he or she tends to use a lot of logic, values, and emotions. Their style of speaking is smooth and convincing. When someone tends to use reason they base their arguments on logic and facts. Their style of speaking is short and simple and it is use reason.
