Having Faith In The Unseen
What does it mean to be a Christian? A Christian is a person who has accepted Jesus Christ as their savoir and has a passion to follow God. Christianity isn't about a religion with rules. It is about having a personal relationship with God himself. People generally think Christianity or church as boring, but if I have a fire burning in our heart to spread the word that Jesus saves you can't go on without it. Now you are probably asking, "who is Jesus and why should I follow him"? Jesus is a name known by billions throughout the world. To each, this name means something different: savior, friend, philosopher, prophet, teacher, fraud, fake, and liar. Some even believe that He is just an imaginary character from the minds of those who wrote about Him. Jesus was the Son of God who lived at Nazareth and announced the coming of the kingdom of God. He was put of the earth in the time of the Roman Empire to sacrifice his life for us from the consequences of our sins. The world tells us to rebel form what is right and go on our own path away from God. Jesus came to rescue us from our downward path to hell. His life, death, and resurrection broke the power of sin and offered eternal life.
The validity of Christianity and Jesus Christ himself has been the center of religious controversy for centuries. Though His identity has not and probably never will be proven, He did exist. Sufficient evidence proves the existence of Jesus and forms a firm basis for Christianity. To fully value Christianity you must understand the Bible and its origins. The Bible itself is composed of 66 books divided into two sections, the Old and New Testaments, and written in many different languages by many different people. The Old Testament books are written in many different literary styles such as historical, prophetic, or biographical. Some believe the Bible to be a perfect historical book, while others disagree totally and disregard the Bible as a compilation of imaginary books that were created long ago. One way of proving that the Bible is true is by considering the amount of archeological evidence that exists. In the Christian walk the bible is essential to really understand what Jesus did for us on the cross. We must rely on the bible to get closer to God. Jesus said that He alone was the way to the father. (John 14:6) Christianity is hard to do in a world that rejects it. Christianity is on the rise. Over 35 million people refer to themselves as born again Christians. (Christianity on Rise Pg. 368. Soc Book.) The Lord says trust in me and I will make your path straight. God doesn't want people who are only willing to give part of their life, but if you give your whole life to him he will make you prosper. After experiencing the grace of God and his power
