A detailed Summary of How Secure Do i Feel


Its funny how when something traumatic happens in youre life you know where you where you were when it happened and what you were doing at that exact moment. My grandma once told me that when President Kennedy was shot she was sitting on her couch pregnant with my mom and she was holding my uncle who was a newborn. For me I remember exactly where I was on September11 2001. I was sitting in homeroom and a teacher came in the room and said turn on the news the world trade center was hi. So we sat there and watched it. We watched the second tower get hit and we watched Pentagon get hit. Those moments in history have changed peoples lives in so many different ways.

Since 9/11 one thing we have to worry about is security. Sure maybe that's always been in the back of our minds but 9/11 has brought that thought out. How safe are we as a nation? I find myself asking that question often. Its true how safe are we if we have terrorisim, wars, and natural born killers. Some people think that if it doesn't directly affect them then they feel secure enough that it wont happen to them. I feel that those people in a way a


re being selfish. Whose to say that just because the tragic event didn't happen to them doesn't mean that it wont change at least one thing in their life. Other people feel that they don't want something like 9/11 to hold them down they just want to live their lives. After a tragic event, if they just move on right away I believe that these people are living in denial. How can you ignore a situation that could change the way you live the rest of your life. Those are the people that think if a tragedy is going to occur theres nothing they can do to prevent it. But those people are part of the same nation that came together after 9/11 and donated blood, money, and hardowrk to pull our nation out of a crisis. Then theres the people that are scared of whats going to happen in the future. They do not feel safe enough to do the things they once were able to do like fly on a plane or work in a tall building. I feel that the people that stay afraid for a long time need to realize that bad things can occur at any time or in any place. They shouldn't be that afraid that they cant live there lives at all.
