Julia Keller, the author, describes "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue (The Angry American) as "odious" as well as "a crude caricature of true American values, as it snarls with schoolyard braggadocio and bristles with taunts and threats and coarse language". When I read this article I was dumbfounded. Apparently the author doesn't know what true patriotism and love for your country is. Nor does she know how the majority of the American public feels about the events that transpired on September 11th. I believe the lyrics in "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" hit the nail right on the head. For instance, the phrase "the big dog will bite when you rattle his cage" expresses exactly what the United States is doing right now. Our cage was rattled on September 11th and now we're biting back by bringing the tyrants and their allies to justice.
