Pick up lines
Hello America! Streaming to you live from UT Austin, My name is Alykhan Khaki and I will be your guide on the journey to find the best pick up line of all time....Dave asked me to do this segment because of Dave's complete lack of success picking up the gorgeous women appearing on his show night after night. When he needed help finding a mistress, he knew exactly who to call. In order to successfully find the best pick up line we must first understand the different stages of the pick up. Looking across a room at a party we first must determine who we want to pick up. We must assess the availability of a person (i.e. wedding ring? Arms around someone? With many people?) to see if we can go talk to them. Then we assess if the person is qualified to determine if we are interested in talking to them. Now comes the fun part...we find an opening line to initiate conversation which helps leading into finding an integrative topic to talk about. During this process we want to present a "come-on" self by being confident. Finally we need to close the sale and schedule a second encounter to keep the relationship going. After determining the person is qualified you need an opening line to meet the person. The three types of opening lines are innocuous, flippant and the direct approach. Innocuous lines do not necessarily show interest. They are subtle and often just mention your surroundings such as the weather, asking for the time, or for a small favor. These lines are generally effective because they are light and easy to begin conversation with. Flippant lines are what most people consider pick up lines. They are lines most often used at a younger age when drunk or when trying to be cute. Here are a couple examples: Is that a keg in your pants, cause I like to tap that ass; or Is your father a thief, cause he stole the stars and put them in your eyes.
