Lear's love test leaves him alone, powerless and foolish. Love consist of giving of one's self without thought of reward. It is also a warm feeling of personal attachment or deep affection. In my opinion I think love is something special ,something ginuwine that should never be taken for granted or mistreated. Cordelia's love for her father was based on the law of Nature which means that children are obligated to love their parents . It is a love connection that dwells in a person even in it's early parts of life , as early as the mother's womb. Out of the three daughters Goneril , Regan and Cordelia ; Cordelia is the one Lear cherishes the most, as for the other two he abhors(dislikes). He has a need for Cordelia to be his daughter most. Lear desires to engage in an incestuous relationship with her which is shown through out the play.
