A Portrait of Jesus

Chapter one talked about Jesus growing up. I thought it was weird how his friends were around Him for thrity years and He didn't really show many signs of being very holy and religious. He was more concerned about his father, but he never was afraid to have a good time at party's.

I liked chapter two. He talked about how you don't have to be perfect to be saved. All you have to do is love. Jesus gives many examples of how if we commit sins and still love, God still loves and accepts us. Chapter two also talked about why people liked Jesus. He was laid back and didn't force his followers to accept outrageous laws like many of the pharisees did.

Chapter three was mostly about the laws of the church. It talked about how the sabbath was made for man and not man for the sabbath. We need to learn how to do good acts and love instead of not loving and just keeping strict laws.

In chapter four the author talked about how Jesus was very laid back and went to many parties. He talked to many sinners like Zacchaeus and his friends. It was the religious leaders who was giving Jesus his bad name, not samaritans. It also talked about marriage and divorce in the church and how a long time ago it was illegal to divorce and many people

were abused because of it. We as older people of the church need to teach kids at a young age about the church and God. Our sociey also needs to watch how we punish criminals. I think everybody deserves a second chance.

What I especially didn't like in chapter 12 is when the author gives examples of what heaven looks like. I think we each have our own heaven. I don't think that one place can be a paradise to every single human being. I also think that God gives us many glimpses of heaven during our life on earth.

I liked the last chapter in the book. It ended with the author talking about the playfulness of Jesus. It shows how subtle and humourous God can sometimes be

In chapter 8 the autohor was saying it is bad we have an image of God. I disagree. I think it is good I have my own image of God. It helps me talk and pray to him easier. He also talked about pastor's refusing to give communion to peole at mass. I don't think any pastor should refuse giving communion. Would Jesus refuse? I don't think so. We all see God differently becuase of how we are taught.

Chapter 10 talked about how we are free to do whatever we want. We should always choose to do the right thing. Jesus had diciples to guide people just like we have leaders to help guide people. I think we should listen to poeple who give advice and respect their opinion.

Chapter 7 was about why people are attracted to Jesus. I think
