Riding the Mountains

Motorcycling is a great hobby. It's a way to get away, away from all the problems that life throws at you, away from everything. There is nothing more adventurous than jumping on your dirt bike and ripping through the woods, seeking your final destination, such as a mountain peak pushing 7,000 feet.

Life is a series of adventures and recently my dad and I discovered the joy of dirt biking. We have been exposed to a new way of looking at the northern part of Idaho by motorcycling in the sky-scraping mountains surrounding beautiful, pristine Priest Lake.

One day last summer we decided to explore the southern end of the lake. We had heard that it was possible to reach Schweitzer Mountain from Priest Lake. We still had some uncertainties because we had only heard of people going by snowmobiles in the winter when the snow covered most of the treacherous obstacles on the trails. However, my dad and I being the type that like to seek adventure, we decided to try it any way. We pulled out our maps and headed towards the mountain.
