Adolf Hitler was born in Vienna, a poor boy with no future. It would be this man who, years later, would have complete power and control of Germany. How did this individual come to have totalitarian control of an entire country? A whole lot of false promises made to unemployed citizens trying to survive a depression while faced with high inflation.. His ascension of the political ladder was messy. It was dirty. But, It was brilliant, and thanks to a lucky chain of events, Hitler was able to stand in command of all of Germany. In 1914, when war broke out in Germany, a man named Adolf Hitler joined the German army. He served as a spy after the war ended, and he spied specifically on the German Workers Party. As he found this attractive, Hitler soon after joined the party. Using his acute verbal skills, Hitler transformed the German Workers Union into the Nazi Party. Foolishly, Hitler tried to over throw the Bavarian Government, resulting in his spending 9 months in jail. Afte
r his release, he rebuilt the Nazi party, though this time he planned to get his power democratically. A long series of elections followed, and the people were growing weary of them. With each one, the Nazi's were losing voters and their time grew short. Hitler and the Nazi's saturated Germany with propaganda and campaigned heavily, hoping to win big and prove they had regained momentum. Finally, on January 30, 1933, a new chapter in German history began as Adolf Hitler emerged from the presidential palace as Chancellor of the German Nation, dubbed so by former chancellor Hindenburg. Surrounded by admirers, he got into his car and was driven down the street lined with cheering citizens. All members of the armed forces now had to swear an oath of loyalty to him. Adolf Hitler went from absolute nobody, to absolute dictator, quite the accomplishment. It showed his intellect, his wit, and his cunning talent for verbal manipulation.
