The principle of civilization is the division of labor for this to be effective it must be covered in constitution of the state. According to Plato, there are three main functions of society production, defense, and government. The three classes society are the citizens or producers, fighters, and the governors who constitute the political aspect of Plato's society. Each class will have the "specific virtue temperance, regarded primarily as obedience, in the producers; courage in the fighters; and wisdom in the governors." Additionally, Plato's fourth virtue, "justice, will be the effective principle of organization that keeps each class in its place and binds the whole together into one body politic."
