Thirteen Days is a semi-bibliography movie of the Cuban Missile Crisis and what the American government was doing about it. Thirteen Days is a dramatic, historical thriller in which the movie is showing what was going on during those nervous thirteen day, in which the United States came real close to a nuclear war with the Soviets. The movie was close to the truth, and was an overall good movie to watch. Thirteen Days gives the audience the feeling of knowing what President Kennedy was thinking as these days went on. Thirteen Days takes place in October of 1962 in with the United States and Cuba were having tensions building up all ready. The movie takes the audience into the White House, and the audience has a feel of what everyone was thinking and what everyone wanted to do.Thirteen Days is about the Cuban Missile Crisis in which involved the United State, and how close we came to have a nuclear war. Some people say that if a missile had been fired either way that it would have started World War III. U.S. planes were spying on Cuba taking pictures of what Cuba was doing. One pilot happened to take a photo of a missile in Cuba. The missiles were coming from the Soviet Union who at the time was in dislike with the Unite
I think that the directors and scriptwriters thought that this would be good entertainment because it was an historical drama. Most of the audience already knows what happens, but to see it relived is something that everyone would want to see. Previous historical dramas have been doing pretty good in the theaters as well so I guess the directors thought why not get some money out of this. Another reason why Thirteen Days would be used as entertainment is that it would be an easier way of the children in school learning what was going on through everyone's head. After reading about something like this kids would want to see something that really reflected it, or instead of reading what happened kids could just be lazy and watch the movie. d States. When the United States found out what was happening over in Cuba, the president who at the time was John F. Kennedy, and his staff try to figure out how to handle the situation without going into war. Kennedy is helped through this situation with the help of his younger brother Robert F. Kennedy, his childhood friend who is the Chief of Staff, and the rest of the president's cabinet members. Kevin Costner plays Kennedy's Chief of Staff, and his childhood friend Kenneth O' Donnell. O' Donnell was advising Kennedy of what to do and what not to do during this time period. O' Donnell would ask pilots to lie to their military officers, and everyone else
