Computer Programming career
My career of choice will be a Computer Programmer, because I like computers, and I am logical. I will be working hard toward my goal and achieve my degree in that field. I worked with PowerPoint, Office 2000, and Excel, which are all Microsoft Products. I have done Structured Programming. Hopefully, within a year and a half, I will receive my Associates in Science, and work. My intention is to become financially independent. Eventually, with night classes, I will further my education with a Bachelors of Science, of the same field, of course. I feel that this is my fate. The responsibilities of a computer programmer is fixing computer errors so that the computer can run smoothly. Computer programmers do duties under such companies like Motorola, Pratt Whitney, IBM, Apple, businesses that depend on computers, governments, Palm Beach County services and other counties, Federal jobs, City positions of West Palm Beach, Boynton Beach, Miami, Tampa, Orlando, New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Toronto, London, Bombay, Silicon Valley, Paris, and many, many more positions. Some disadvantages to the computer programming career can be stressful. The vulnerability of layoffs is high. The entry level salary for most Associates in Science for Computers Degree graduates are $19,000 annually, not enough to make a living. Also, you have to be on call, like a doctor. The advantages, however are rewarding. Basically, there is always room for promotions and raises, it teaches life's logic, and it shows you how to fix your own computer! Another duty of a programmer is to program computer chips for cars, household equipment, television, radio, computer discs, compact discs, video compact discs, cartridges, game consoles, printers, phones, and whatever else is imaginable. Computer chips are devices that are less that a square centimeter, and hold tons of information. However, in order to do that, the programming language has to be set in the chip to hold and use such information. Usually, when the computer itself does not work, it is basically because of the chips. Another career duty is to create websites, also known as a Webmaster, with the skills that I learn from college. The commercial websites are designed to attract the public into trying the company's products or services. I would have to know the languages, and in a specific program, create the actual website using a series of programming language instructions to make it work. The instructions should be easy enough for other programmers fix any future bugs, and redesign the website. For the Associates in Science for Computers Degree, one would need less general courses than the Associates in Arts for Computer Science Degree. Both of them would get the skills that is needed, but it is better to follow the Associates in Arts for Computer Science Degree, because the Associates in Science for Computers Degree would not transfer you immediately to the fou
