A detailed Summary of Hermit Radley and Forester Essay
People see the world differently, some want to be a part of the society in any way possible and there are those, the hermits that hide from the outside world. They don't interact with anyone. In the novel, "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, and in the movie Finding Forester there are hermits. They were driven to hermitage, and eventually as many years past, their hermitages were broken because of their friendships. Both of the hermits were driven to hermitage because of their families, and both of them had friends to help them break their shells.
Boo Radley and William Forester were driven to hermitage. Boo Radley was locked inside of his house by his father when he was in his teens. It was his father's choice, that or he would be sent to something similar to a military school. "The doors of the Radley house were closed on weekdays, as well as Sundays, and Mr. Radley's boy was not seen again for 15 years." Boo essentially didn't exist for 15 years. Yes, his actions as a kid led to him being locked up, but his father was given another way out of the problem. The judge was going to send Boo with his friends to something like a military school. William Forester had made a great friendship also. He had made a connection between a boy, Jamal, who had the same love to write as he did. William agreed to help Jamal to write if he promised not to talk about him. When Jamal had gotten in trouble at his new private school for using Forester's title in his essay without asking permission he was stuck. He couldn't tell the school board that he new William Forester because he had promised, besides nobody would believe that a little black boy new one of the greatest writers ever. Jamal was going to lose his scholarship when Forester broke his shell and attended Jamal's meeting. He explained in front of more than 200 people that Jamal was his student and that he was only keeping a promise by keeping his silence about him. Forester saved Jamal's scholarship by breaking his hermitage. Then, after the meeting was over Forester said goodbye to Jamal. "Thank you Jamal, for you have given me more than you could imagine." William told Jamal that he was going home, and that made Jamal confused. Then William explained that he was going back to his homeland, Scotland. There he died with cancer, but he died happy. He died happy because Jamal gave him more than anybody give him. Jamal gave him new life and he gave him a reason to be happy. When Jamal got news that Forester had died he was shocked, then he found out that Forester had given him everything he had. Every piece of writing that Forester had put down on paper was in the apartment he gave Jamal.
