Animal Farm Analysis

A Revolution requires a mind, a body, and a will, and without it, there is no Farm, the character of Napoleon orders a resistance. In George Orwell's novella, Animal windmill built for several reasons, perhaps it is to help the farm succeed and taking credit for it himself, or maybe it was a tool to wear away the minds, strengths, and the will to resist away the animals. Whatever it is, Napoleon can always benefit from it.

The windmill, first suggested by Snowball, was meant to bring electricity for the farm, and to push the farm into prosperity. When Napoleon took over the control of the farm, his motive of building the windmill was also to help the farm prosper, but at a higher cost, and more attributes to himself. Napoleon had been against the motive of building the windmill when Snowball


The more logical meaning of the windmill, in Napoleon's case, is to force labor upon the animals so that the animals cannot find strength and will to overthrow Napoleon, no matter how harsh the life. Napoleon had simply incorporated this into his master plan. The hard life of working on the windmill reduces the animals to skin and bones, the lack of proper rations also contributes to it. Napoleon uses this method to break the animals' will to rebel, no matter what Napoleon did. The animals, which are already weak and tired after a day's labor, have no strength, will, or care for rebellion. All they will care about after such labor is food and sleep. Also, the windmill gives the animals a sense of pride and satisfaction for their labor and their farm. The animals believed that the windmill was a goal, and achieving
