Existentialism
A detailed Summary of Existentialism
Existentialism isn't something that can be defined in one short sentence. It's a belief system that is pertinent to anyone who questions their own existence or self-being. Existentialism isn't like a religion where you spend your life trying to please someone else and denying your own freedom. It is about individuality and thinking on your own. Many authors, such as Descartes, Nietzsche, and Pascal, have stressed their feelings against conformity and have helped people to live their life by making their own decisions and not relying on others to think for them. One very important author who has helped to explain existentialism as a philosophy or belief system is Jean-Paul Sartre.
