Ernest Hemingway was one of the most famous and influential writers of the 1900's. Born in 1899 and died the way his Father died Ernest took his own life. Just like the book stated Hemingway was referred to his style as "the heart of subtraction," the taking out of unnecessary elements. I think that's what he did in in the short story "Hills like White Elephants." The story takes place at a train station in Spain.
