Queen Victoria is often considered England's most noble queen. Born at Kensington Palace, London, on May 24th 1819, Princess Alexandrina Victoria was an only child of Edward, the Duke of Kent and Victoria Maria Louisa of Saxe-Coburg. Victoria's father died when she was just eight months old. She became the heiress-apparent when her uncle George IV died in 1830. When her uncle William IV (George IV's brother) died without any children in 1837, she became Queen of England at the age of eighteen. She was crowned the following year.
