Should the US Aid 3rd wourld countries

1. Mila 18 is set in the late 1930's into the 1940's in Warsaw Poland. Most of the main characters in the novel are Jewish since it takes place during the Warsaw Ghetto uprising. Andri and Alexander are two characters who are in the desperate struggle to preserve their rights against the Nazi persecutors. Deborah and Paul are also principle characters, De3borah is Andrei's older sister and Paul is her husband. These four characters bud heads periodically throughout the book due to different points of view on certain issues. Mila 18 Does a good job leading up to the German invasion of Poland and the gradual persecution of the Jews. It shows how the destruction of their rights affected them and how they were eventually able to fight back.

2. Paul, Andrei, Deborah, and Alex all have a unique relationship with one another. In the beginning there is a lot of conflict between them, but as it progresses they begin to work with one another - 1 -Preferred Customer Page 1 12/2/2002r much better. 5. The author uses a third person omniscient to tell this story. By using this point of view he is able too lead the reader's attention to the larger picture and what happened leading up to certain things. In telling the story, Leon Uris side tracks quite often to tell a history of a person he just introduced or how something came to be. In doing this, Uris is building a foundation of knowledge and strengthening the core of the plot. The point of view only changes for dialogue between the characters so as to hear some of the story from their views. He has chosen this point of view so the reader can see all the angles and how they can all be fit together. With all the angles the plot can be better understood.

6. This book defiantly deserves literary eligibility for numerous reasons. It gives a very good look into a period of time and a place where frequent event were occurring that would change the world forever. It deals with bigotry at its highest in great detail, singling out major as well as very minor events and putting them under a microscope. Uris has an attention to detail which makes this book on in which keeps the reader on the edge of their seats waiting to see what is going to happen next.
