That shows that Willy was not as well known as he bragged to Biff and Happy whe they were young boys. In the final lines of the novel(p.139) when Linda sobs as she says "we're free... we're free..." Linda means that the family is free from all the pain that they went through when Willy was alive. In the end of the novel Linda finally has the courage to say how she really feels, but still in a suttle way.
