TV Ratings
A detailed Summary of TV Ratings
In February 1996, in response to public pressure, the television industry agreed to come up with a television rating system -- to give parents more information about the TV shows their kids watch. On December 18, the television industry released its idea -- they recommended an age-based system. All television programs would be rated according to six age categories: TV-Y, TV-Y7, TV-G, TV-PG, TV-14, and TV-M. The children's advocacy community recommended an objective system to give parents specific descriptive information about the content of the shows. Each show would be rated on a simple, numerical scale indicating the level of V [violence], S [sex] and L [adult language]. The ratings applied to these shows were accurate for what they showed. For the Rugrats the show has kids getting themselves into mischief mostly this is why the show has a TV-G rating because little kids could get ideas from show. Mostly the rating system for TV is pretty good. I would rather have a system that shows the abbreviations for the material that is getting ready to be shown on the show. This was you know exactly what is coming up and you do not have any doubt.
There are many advantages to the rating system. One is that you mostly know what the show will have in it. This is why I would want the oth
