I interviewed my uncle for self-employed business man. When my uncle was my age he was just like me, he did not know what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. My uncle was voted most likely to screw off after high school. My uncle would later use that that award he received as ambition to work hard and to survive in our tough economy. My uncle jack new what ever he did he was going to be the best at it and would edge other competitors out of the business. When jack first sat down to decide what he wanted to do he had to narrow down his options. He had to think reasonable and bring in to play the type of skills he had to work with. He figured he was great with communicating with people he loved sports and had a knack for creating some of the best, most random dishes that guys would like.
My uncle had a wide variety of different business ideas. He had to choose from opening a sports collector shop, a bar, a rest
aurant, or an arcade(what a typical male.). it was a tough decision so he had to narrow it down, wait better yet, he would just combine them all. With no experience in any of these ideas but the most knowledge in all of them, he decided to start off as just a sports bar. In the sports bar he decided he wanted it to be a fun, safe, chaotic atmosphere that had a touch of class(I guess that would be any young 30 year old male's dream right?). he wanted there to be games. So he brought into the bar some arcade virtual reality games that offered attraction to the 21 and over crowd. It was pretty easy to amuse a drunk crowd. He later added live jazz or blues bands on Friday nights that added more of an urban flavor to the crowd. After adding further extras to the sports bar he decided that maybe he needed to focus on his menu a little more if people were planning on buying into other things than alcoholic beverages.
