Luck
A detailed Summary of Luck
I woke up with no outside force. What time is it I think to myself? Still a bit hazy minded from benign drinking the night before, I pull out my pager to see what time it was. 12:20. The alarm was set to go off at 12:30 so I rolled over and went back to sleep. Soon afterwards in the background, I hear the radio alarm turn on. I get up, walk into the bedroom, and turn the alarm off. Time for me to get home and ready for work. I did not have a clue where I was, but I knew that I had an hour and a half to be at work. So I just started walking. As if guided by some force I ended up at the George Washington University Metro station. It was my lucky day so I thanked my guardian angel and headed home.
Luck has widely been associated with some sort of material, tangible, object. We as humans find it difficult to comprehend concepts designed for faith so we place that idea into something we can touch, or they are called lucky cha

rms. For example, a four leaf clover. Because it is a rare natural occurrence, you are said to be lucky or in luck to find one. While in reality it is a mutation of nature. Would you consider yourself lucky if you found yourself sitting next to a midget. They are also a rare occurrence. Another example is rabbits feet. How is having a loped of rabbit's foot dangling from your set of keys considered lucky? If anything it promoted the detaching of an animals body parts. On a more subtle note, when a favorable occurrence happens to a person while they are holding something or doing some action and they realize that, they associate that object or action with luck. Later when they wish for a favorable event to happen again they will have that object or perform that action again in hopes of reproducing the result. None of these items or actions actually brings luck to someone.
