Macbeth and the Blood Imagery

In William Shakespeare's play, Macbeth, blood is a good example of the imagery Shakespeare uses. Blood is the most important imagery in Macbeth. It symbolizes honor and bravery and also duplicity and evil. The play starts out with the 3 witches talking about Macbeth. Macbeth is now a great hero because he led the Scottish army to victory. For the recognition of Macbeth's leadership he becomes Thane of Cawdor. The weird sisters make many predictions to Macbeth and they all come true. Macbeth then makes the last prediction come true by killing King Duncan so he will become king.

In the beginning of the play blood is represented of honor and bravery and symbolizes good and victory. The blood on Macbeth's sword after the war shows him to be a brave hero. His bravery ge


The use of blood as imagery is used in two different ways. One of good and the other of evil. In the beginning of the play blood is shown as honor and bravery and in the end it is shown as guilt and evil. Macbeth made the predictions of the three sisters come true, and that is how all this trouble started. Macbeth got too greedy and wanted too much power, which led to his downfall. William Shakespeare uses imagery very well in "Macbeth"; Blood was on of the most important in the beginning and the end of the play.
